Victor's Opening Dates Have Drifted Since July. Here's Where Each One Stands.

An ivory-sided house with red-brown brick, a muted olive front door, worn concrete steps, and autumn oakleaf hydrangea beside the window.

Since early July, Victor has picked up roughly a dozen announced openings. They include five new Eastview tenants, a relocated Starbucks, a jewelry chain, a 90,000-square-foot Bass Pro Shops, a standalone Chick-fil-A, a Nordstrom Rack and an indoor skydiving attraction in the village. As of October 4, three of them are open. Several of the rest have already pushed their dates back at least once.

That gap is the useful part. Across this cycle, the original announcement has been the least reliable signal of when a door actually opens. Status updates on Eastview's own store pages, new exterior signage and hiring events have been better guides. Here is where each project stands, sorted by how much evidence there is behind its date.

Three July Announcements That Are Now Open

When Eastview owner Wilmorite announced its new tenants on July 10, the Starbucks move was framed as the fastest. The kiosk was relocating to Main Court near LEGO and JD Sports and was expected to open "in the coming days." Eastview's Starbucks listing now reads "Now Open!"

Two more of the July names have followed. The Toys R Us pop-up was announced for a 5,701-square-foot space in the Dick's House of Sport wing next to OFFLINE, with work expected to begin "soon." Snipes was slated for a 3,000-square-foot storefront in the JCPenney wing between Aerie and la Vie en Rose, with construction "in the coming weeks." Both store pages now say "Now Open!" The Toys R Us page went up in mid-September and the Snipes page a few days later.

In all three cases, the announcements used open-ended wording like "coming days," "soon" and "coming weeks." The mall pages confirm that these stores are open now, but they don't give exact opening dates. The forecasts that have visibly slipped are the ones that named a firmer window.

The Storefronts Still Marked "Coming Soon"

Good Life Collective has the clearest gap between forecast and reality. The Democrat and Chronicle reported on July 13 that the locally owned shop would be the region's first mall-based cannabis dispensary. It sells products made with New York-grown cannabis, and its other locations are in Canandaigua, Batavia, Buffalo and downtown Rochester. The paper said it was expected to open "within the next month" in a 1,518-square-foot space inside Entrance 6. Close to three months later, Eastview's listing still says "Coming soon!"

The other two July names never promised a quick turnaround. Happy Beauty's 2,850-square-foot storefront is just inside Entrance 4 off Main Court. The mall said in July that construction would begin "in the coming months." The combined Dunkin' and Jimmy John's has a 1,005-square-foot spot in the Food Court next to Burger King, with construction "slated to start later this year." Both listings still read "Coming soon!"

A newer name joined the list in September. Lovisa, the jewelry retailer, was announced on September 23 for the JCPenney wing between Hollister and Lovesac. FingerLakes1 reported on October 4 that it plans to open "before the holidays," but no exact date has been announced.

Business Location What was said Status as of Oct. 4, 2026
Starbucks Main Court kiosk, near LEGO and JD Sports "In the coming days" in July Open
Toys R Us pop-up Dick's House of Sport wing, next to OFFLINE Work to begin "soon" Open
Snipes JCPenney wing, between Aerie and la Vie en Rose Construction "in the coming weeks" Open
Good Life Collective Inside Entrance 6 Open "within the next month" in July Coming soon
Happy Beauty Inside Entrance 4, off Main Court Construction "in the coming months" Coming soon
Dunkin' and Jimmy John's Food Court, next to Burger King Construction "later this year" Coming soon
Lovisa JCPenney wing, between Hollister and Lovesac "Before the holidays" Coming soon

Bass Pro's Date Has Already Moved Once

The biggest project inside Eastview is the Bass Pro Shops Outpost. It will take the former Lord & Taylor space at 7979 Pittsford-Victor Road, about 90,000 square feet. The project was announced in October 2025.

On September 16, 13WHAM covered the store's hiring push and quoted the store manager hoping for a "mid fall" opening. Twelve days later, an Eastview spokesperson told News 8 there was no official grand-opening date and that the mall was "still hopeful" the store would open before the end of the year. The window went from "mid fall" to "before year-end" in less than two weeks.

The physical signs point the same way. New signage has gone up on the exterior, and the company held a job fair in September to fill about 150 full-time and part-time positions. Hiring and signage usually happen late in a build-out, so they say more about this project's progress than either date estimate does. Still, the official answer for now is "before the end of 2026," with no day attached.

Chick-fil-A Just Started Construction

Chick-fil-A is the newest construction site on the Route 96 side. Work began in September on a 5,000-square-foot site at the southeast corner of Eastview's property, across from Macy's. It will be Ontario County's first standalone Chick-fil-A. RochesterFirst reported on September 28 that the plans include a double-lane drive-through, outdoor patio seating and parking, and that the restaurant is "expected to open later this year."

That leaves a freestanding restaurant three months to go from new construction to opening day. No opening date has been announced. Given how dates have moved on the other projects, "later this year" is a target and nothing firmer.

The Biggest New Draw Is Going Up on School Street, Not Route 96

The project likely to bring the most out-of-town visitors isn't at the mall. Bright Flite Experience broke ground at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 2, at 62 School St. in the village of Victor. The invitation listed Maguire Properties Inc., MDB and RH Architecture as project partners. The company lists indoor skydiving, custom glow golf, duckpin bowling, golf simulators and food and drink among its planned attractions.

"Part of the reason this is so attractive is it's one of a kind. It's going to be a destination, and it'll be good not only for the community, but for the region," Bright Flite president Kathy King told News 8.

The opening date is unclear, and the two published estimates disagree. The company's website still gives "Fall 2026." RochesterFirst, reporting from the groundbreaking, said no exact date had been shared but that "a summer opening next year could be in sight." Ground broke on October 2, so the newer report is the more realistic guide, and summer 2027 is the earliest it seems reasonable to expect.

Nordstrom Rack has a fixed target. The company announced a 23,000-square-foot store at Eastgate Square, near the Turk Hill Road and State Route 96 intersection, opening in spring 2027. Since it was announced in July with a season about nine months out, it has the most built-in time of any project on this list.

So over the next year, the two largest new arrivals will sit in different parts of town. Bass Pro is filling a former department store anchor at the mall. Bright Flite is putting a new entertainment building in the village, a short distance from Main Street.

The Dates That Won't Move

While the store openings stay tentative, the town's own fall and winter calendar is set. The Town of Victor's 2026 events calendar lists Scarecrows on Main for all of October, Spooktacular on Main on October 23, and Jingle Mingle on Main Street and Mead Square on December 5.

There's also a ribbon cutting on the village side this month:

  • October 14, noon. American Legion Post 931 opens its new building at 5 West Main Street, and the public is invited.
  • October 17. The Monster Mash trunk-or-treat runs at the Victor Fire Hall and the Victor-Farmington Library parking lot. Admission is $5 per child or $12 per family.
  • October 23. Spooktacular on Main.
  • December 5. Jingle Mingle on Main Street and Mead Square.

For the Eastview projects, check the mall's individual store pages. They flipped from "Coming soon!" to "Now Open!" for Starbucks, Toys R Us and Snipes, and that's where the next changes are likely to show up first.

We keep an eye on what's opening around Victor because it shapes everyday life for the people we work with, whether that means a shorter errand run or a new place to take the kids on a winter Saturday.
